If you ride 80–100 km a day for deliveries, fuel is probably your single biggest expense. We looked at riding data from over 10,000 Dribl riders who switched from petrol bikes to electric scooters — and the savings are bigger than most people expect.
1. Fuel vs electricity
A typical 110cc petrol bike gives around 45–50 km per litre. At today's petrol prices that works out to roughly ₹2.2–2.5 per km. An electric scooter on a Dribl plan costs about ₹0.25 per km in energy, because battery swaps are already included in your rental.
| Daily distance | Petrol / month | Dribl EV / month | You save |
|---|---|---|---|
| 60 km | ₹4,500 | ₹450 | ₹4,050 |
| 80 km | ₹6,000 | ₹600 | ₹5,400 |
| 120 km | ₹9,000 | ₹900 | ₹8,100 |
2. No servicing bills
Petrol bikes need oil changes, chain adjustments, clutch plates and regular tune-ups. Riders told us they spent ₹800–1,200 a month on average. With Dribl, all maintenance and repairs are covered in your plan.
"Pehle har mahine service aur petrol mein aadhi kamai chali jaati thi. Ab woh paisa ghar bhejta hoon." — Rahul, Delhi
3. Less downtime, more orders
Charging an EV at home can take 4–5 hours. Battery swapping takes under 2 minutes. That means you stay on the road during peak hours, which is when incentives are highest.
- Average swap time: 1 min 48 sec
- Average extra orders per day after switching: 3–4
- Breakdown response time: under 45 minutes
The bottom line
Even after paying the daily rental, most Dribl riders end up ₹4,000–6,000 better off every month compared to running their own petrol bike. Add the zero down payment and insurance, and the switch pays for itself from day one.
